In 1966, Atlanta-based Eastern Foods opened with a $10,000
investment, a handful of employees and a 4,000 square foot
warehouse.
Nearly 40 years later, the company operates from a 250,000 square
foot state of the art facility, has more than 300 employees across
the country, and annual sales approaching $100,000,000.
Founded by current Chairman Robert H. Brooks, the company began by
selling a vegetable-based, refrigerated coffee creamer to
airlines. Although no longer produced, it was a coffee creamer
product that launched Eastern Foods and its current vast product
line.
During the 1970's, Mr. Brooks expanded Eastern Foods into specialty goods
for institutional customers. To better serve customers, Mr. Brooks
opened the first of 26 distribution centers that now span the
United States from coast to coast.
In 1980, Eastern Foods launched the Naturally Fresh®
brand, consisting of all-natural salad dressings, sauces, dips,
oils, and vinegars. The company later developed the Jackaroo®
line of meat sauce products.
The company was known as Eastern Foods until 2002 when it
became Naturally Fresh, Inc. The change was made to recognize the
company's strongest brand and to emphasize our commitment to
providing only the freshest, highest quality products.
Since the introduction of Naturally
Fresh® products, Naturally Fresh has handled most
areas of production, including research and development, product
preparation, packaging, and delivery in company owned and operated
refrigerated trucks.

Throughout the 1980's and 1990's, Naturally Fresh expanded its retail
business into leading supermarkets and increased its market
penetration into quick serve, casual, and fine dining restaurants.
Today Naturally Fresh remains
competitive by constantly introducing new
products.
While Naturally Fresh has grown to become one of the leading refrigerated
salad dressing companies in the United States,
we still remain dedicated to bringing you the
best products possible.
Each retail package invites customers to call or write Mr. Bob Brooks if
not completely satisfied with a Naturally
Fresh® product because Mr. Brooks
believes Naturally Fresh must "do
something for the customer."
An alumnus of Clemson University, Mr. Brooks attended the school as
a scholarship student.
